Scripture for Worry About Health
What Does the Bible Say About Worrying About Health?
We see specifically in scripture that we are told “do not worry about anything,” including our health. So, below, I’m sharing how to overcome worry Biblically along with several Bible verses about worrying about the future so that you can:
1. Meditate on them.
2. Let them get down in your heart.💗
3. Declare them out loud any time the enemy tries to come at you with fear or worry over your health.
I’m also including a list of Bible verses about health so that you can lean on them, trust in the Lord’s promises, and declare them over yourself!
The Bible says that there is true power in our words (Proverbs 18:21.) And since scripture is the living, breathing Word of God, we can bring it into action in our life through speaking it over ourselves (and our loved ones.)
Utilize the scriptures below along with these healthy living prayers to pray over yourself or a loved one any time you feel worried about your health!
Bible Verses About Worry and Stress
Here are over 7 anxiety calming scriptures to be reminded of any time you are concerned for your health (or someone else’s.)
Psalm 55:22 — “Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
When we give God our concerns, He takes care of the rest! It’s a promise, believe it!
“Let not your hearts be troubled”…. This shows us that the choice is ours! And God commands us to do so… He doesn’t ask or wish we would do so, He commands us.
Proverbs 12:25 — “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”
When anxiety comes, speak the Word of God out loud and you will be filled with peace and joy! This scripture for worry about health is a great one to do so with!
1 Peter 5:7 — “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
Cast ALL your anxiety (which includes worry and stress), not just some of it. All of it.
Philippians 4:6-7 — “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
When we give God our concerns through prayer, He, in turn, provides us with His peace… And there is nothing like it in the whole world. He promises to guard our hearts which means the devil cannot touch them.
Matthew 11:28-30 — “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
God doesn’t intend for us to walk around with heaviness on our shoulders. This scripture for worry and stress proves to us once again that when we lay our burdens on the Lord, we receive peace and rest.
Psalm 23:4 — “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Even when we are in our absolute lowest of lows, the Lord still protects and comforts us.
Matthew 6:34 — “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
We aren’t called to worry about tomorrow. God wants us to live in this current moment with Him and let Him take care of our tomorrows!
Bible Verses for Healing and Strength
Jeremiah 17:14 — “Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”
If you’ve had a negative diagnosis or are concerned about your health, say this scripture for worry about health out loud every single day! Write it on sticky notes and stick it in every place you see regularly in your home and vehicle!
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
God gives us strength in our time of need, therefore, we don’t worry about the future. We smile at the future knowing we will walk into it with God by our side.
Romans 15:5 — “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.”
The Lord is always there to provide encouragement and endurance (the ability to keep moving) any time you need it! Ask and you shall receive!
James 5:14-15 — “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”
I think the power of faith is often so minimized in Christian society. This verse literally tells us that “the prayer offered in faith WILL make the sick person well!” Period. It’s a promise. We must pray in faith and trust that God can heal us!
Isaiah 41:10 — “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Did you know the statement “do not fear” or “fear not” is in the Bible over 365 times?! That’s one time for every day! This is not a request from the Lord, it is a command. Living in fear is a sin. We must make the choice to trust God, even when it’s difficult.
John 16:33 — “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
God never promised us a burden-free life. As humans, we will all experience burdens at some point because we live in a fallen world. However, God tells us to lift up our eyes! God is with us and, because of Jesus, we will ALWAYS have the victory! We will ALWAYS win…. Even in death!
Nehemiah 8:10 — “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
The joy of Jesus gives us strength when we are weak! “When I am weak, He is strong.” Admit to the Lord today that you’re struggling… That you are weak. And watch Him show up with supernatural strength for you!
Psalm 121:1-2 “I lift up my eyes to the mountains; Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Look up, child! When you feel worries or are stressed about your health, be sure not to just look around at what the doctors or your peers are saying… Rather, listen to the great physician! HE ALWAYS has the final say!

How Do I Ask God to Heal My Body?
You can talk to the Lord just like you talk to a friend. But one thing I always try and do when I pray is use God’s own words, because if we are using His words from scripture, then we can know we are praying His will.
Take the scriptures for worry about health from above, and replace the pronouns with the words “I” or “me” to pray them over yourself! Declare them so that God can see you have faith and believe what He says is true about you!
