These simple health tips for everyday living helped transform me from living a life where I constantly felt lethargic, lacked confidence, and was very unhealthy… into a life where I am full of energy, confidence, and am the healthiest version of myself I have ever been!
Along with the 10 tips for a healthy lifestyle, I’m going to share a few healthy lifestyle facts that I found to be life-changing and some healthy lifestyle examples so that you can practically start incorporating these into your everyday life!

Healthy Lifestyle Tip # 1
Rather than focusing on how to stop eating the “bad” foods, simply focus on eating the good, healthy foods instead!
Have you ever heard the saying “what you focus on, you become“? Well, that’s sort of applicable here… When you’re constantly so focused on NOT eating the bad foods, then you’re giving the bad foods your thoughts and attention… So, naturally, you’re going to end up wanting those foods more!
Instead, try making your focus simply fueling your body with as many healthy, nutrient-dense foods as possible!
Then you won’t have as much room in your mind (or your belly) for the unhealthy foods.

Get in the sunshine every chance possible.
Vitamin D, baby. 🙌🏼 We were created for sunshine. Need I say more?
Healthy Lifestyle Tip # 3
Drink 1 gallon of water per day.
Not only does water assist in keeping body fat down, but there are countless benefits to drinking water.
If you are someone who hates drinking water or knows they don’t drink enough, start making yourself drink a gallon per day…. Just do it!
Before long, your body WILL start craving the water. Then, you won’t be able to live without it and you’ll be a water drinker for life!
One of these gallon water bottles can help you do that. I literally carry mine everywhere!

Spend alone time with God each morning.
God wants you to be healthy, so ask Him to give you the discipline to choose healthy habits! (You can use this healthy living prayer for help if you need!) Whatever area of your health you are struggling with, you can always ask Him for help and He will provide.

Get on a set eating schedule.
GAME. CHANGER…. Especially if you’re someone who has the tendency to overeat OR under eat…
Getting on a set eating schedule will keep you from eating out of boredom, since you won’t be allowing yourself to eat outside of those specified times. It will also help you remember to eat (and nourish your body well) if you’re someone who tends to forget!

Incorporate a walk into your daily or bi-daily routine.
Walking is good for the body, but it’s also just real good for the soul.😎
Going on a walk, especially when it’s sunny, can produce so many endorphins, which make you feel happier! And when you feel happier, you’ll automatically feel more excited and disciplined about your healthy lifestyle.

Park in the back of the parking lot.
What will this take? An extraaaa… 30 seconds or so to walk into the grocery store?
Think about it…. that extra 30 seconds of walking will majorly add up over time when you do it regularly! Such a simple way to burn extra calories.
Another simple hack that goes along with this is to take the stairs! (When an elevator is a more tempting option!)

Find an active hobby you enjoy and look forward to regularly.
This could be soccer, disc golf, corn hole, running, biking, swimming, or literally anything else that gets you moving (even moving gently)! Having an active hobby is the perfect way to build some calories regularly, while also enjoying yourself.

Smile! Even when you don’t feel like it.
Smiling actually produces endorphins and causes you to feel happier, even if you’re in the worst of moods!
And when you’re happy… you’re more likely to choose healthy lifestyle habits.

Only keep the foods at your house that you need to be eating.
If you’re anything like me… If it’s in your house, you’re eating it!
No matter how much self control I have, when it comes down to a mid-period chocolate craving and a big ole Hershey’s bar sitting in my pantry… Hershey’s = 1. Sydney = 0. 🤣
Let your weekly dinner date nights or Crumbl cookie runs be your splurge time. That way, you’re not tempted when you’re at home on a regular basis.
“How can I change my health habits?”
Instead of focusing so much on how you can overcome your temptations, shift your focus to thinking about all the ways you can treat your body well!
Think things like:
“How WELL can I treat my body today?”
“How many different healthy, nutrient-rich foods can I eat today?”
“What’s something fun I can go do outdoors that’ll get me active?”
“What’s a new healthy grocery I can try from the produce section this week?”
The more you focus on the bad habits you want to change, the more you will likely be tempted to give in to them. Don’t let them be your core focus or the forefront of your mind.
Remember: what you focus on, grows.
So use this concept to your advantage and focus on how you can live 1% healthier than you did yesterday!

It’s a fact that in order to stop an unhealthy habit, you must replace it with a healthy one!
“An idol mind is the devil’s playground.”
If you’re trying to quit an unhealthy habit and are leaving the space where that habit was, empty, then you’re going to be more likely to go back to that habit. However, if you fill that space with a HEALTHY habit (a habit that gets you 1% closer to where you want to be), then you won’t have an empty mind, wandering about looking for something to do.
